Real Long Island Wedding: Christie and Anthony

It was the month of November and the ultimate question for us was: Will our wedding have to be postponed, due to the aftermath of Storm Sandy? After waiting for our special day to come, there was nothing stopping us! On November 21, 2012 we exchanged vows and celebrated our marriage with our family and friends. It was a day that was full of emotions and one that we’ll never forget!

Our ceremony took place in a Catholic Church where my grandparents and parents were also married and the reception was held in The Fox Hollow Country Club. Anthony and I wrote each other letters to read before meeting at the church which was so touching and a part of my day that I will never forget! Along with exchanging vows with the love of my life, my day was even better when I saw my students were at the church to see me get married.

 The overall theme and vibe that I was aiming for was a French romantic, elegant feel. I felt strongly about using a neutral palette for all of the details. I incorporated pale pink, white, ivory, and gold here and there. Pearls, lace, and texture have always been favorites of mine so I also incorporated them in my dress, veils, invites, favors, jewelry, and flowers. Our favorite chocolates are Lindt chocolate truffles so we shared them with our guests by giving each person a bag of mixed truffles. Our day was simply amazing and I wouldn’t have changed a thing!
