As promised here are the answers to your questions and a helpful tip.
Do I need to order extra invitations?
I always recommend ordering extra invitations, as reordering can very be expensive. Keep in mind you will want to keep a few for yourself as a remembrance.
When should my response date be?
I recommend at least a month before your wedding. You want to give ample time for your guests to respond. You also want to make sure you give yourself enough time to get your table arrangements done and place cards printed. You don't want to add unnecessary stress right before your wedding.
Can I customize the text on my invitation or do I need to select from the verses in the book?
You can write whatever you'd like on your invitation. The verses you are referring to are just guidelines to help you.
Do I need to include my parents and fiance's parents names on my invitations?
This is a matter of preference. If your parents or fiance's parents are contributing to the cost of the wedding, their names are usually included.
Tip:
Setup 2 baskets in your home for your responses, a yes basket and a no basket.
As the responses start to come back, just put them in the appropriate basket. You will save yourself from having to sort through all the responses at the end.
I hope this is helpful!
