Wahooooo! Summer time is here and it is Hot out. This means that it is time to think about shorter ceremonies or moving it inside to be kind to your guests.
For an outdoor ceremony the people you love most in the world will have been seated a good 10 minutes before the ceremony start. Try not to bake them. We don't want Grandma developing a spontaneous melanoma waiting for the music to start.
Should everyone move inside because it's hot?
Absolutely not! But I do recommend keeping the ceremony to what is most important to you.
Other things to think of:
Looking at your ceremony location, at the time of your wedding and seeing where the sun will be. Woodbury CC for example has a huge section behind me. I like to offer to put the Grandparents under the shade there. They can see especially when you face one another for the vows, symbolically it is like the past behind you.
Looking for options before the day will make everyone more comfortable. Let the older folks and pregnant woman know there's a place for them. It will make them feel good.
Water - have buckets of water.
Do you have your groomsmen dressed in jackets and vests? They may need ice water too! On a side note outdoor weddings in cool weather has inspired some of my brides to ask the men to remove their jackets and give them to the ladies. As long as they all do the same thing the pictures will be fine.
Hydrate - the 2 of you - especially if you were out the night before.
Think of as much as you can, pad the edges and it will all be wonderful!
