Stressed from holiday shopping and wedding planning and not taking care of yourself?
Keeping healthy during the winter is important for YOU! Don't let stress and the cold bring you down this Holiday Season.
What is your New Years Resolution? Here are a few steps in setting goals and how to make them happen!
(1) MAKE A GOAL
Whether it's to lose 20 pounds of fat or gain 10 pounds of muscle, the first step is to make a quantifiable goal so you have something to work towards. Without a measureable goal you cannot gage your process. Be sure to be extremely specific!
(2) WRITE OUT A PLAN OF ACTION
Without a plan it is near impossible to reach your goal. Keep your plan simple and direct. Give yourself steps to take so you aren't overwhelmed with too much change. Too much at once can cause a relapse and put you right back to where you started.
(3) MODERATION
One cause of weight gain is our huge portion sizes. We love to gorge ourselves with a ton of food! When you are out to eat, don't be afraid to ask for half your meal rapped up to take home. Serving size, eating frequency and overall caloric content of the food you eat all affect your body. Keep this in mind when writing out your plan.
(4) SPREAD THE HEALTH
What is more of a push than to get a friend or loved one involved? Bring out your inner competitor! Nothing pushes you more than a fun bet or incentive to keep you on the right track. Even if you have different goals, the end result is for you both to be healthy and confident!
(4) STAY MOTIVATED
Something we struggle with is staying motivated. A good way to help with this is to write your goal down and keep it on your desk at work, in your car and even on you mirror at home. Reminding yourself what you're working toward is a consistent motivator and makes it more difficult to slip back into old habits.
