The sands point preserve is beautiful, and the Hempstead House is the perfect wedding venue. The contract process is a little complicated because its owned by Nassau County and there's a lot of pressure to work with their selected caterer even when it isn't exclusive to them, but otherwise it was a beyond pleasant experience having our wedding at the preserve. The house looked amazing day of and wowed all of our guests, and Jackie is beyond helpful and accommodating! If we could go back, we'd still pick the Hempstead House. Our choice of venue made our wedding reception what it was and made our wedding photos epic.

We had our September 17, 2016 wedding at the Hempstead House at Sands Point Preserve and it was absolutely incredible! Words cannot describe how stunning it was and how thrilled my husband and I were to have our wedding there. This is a truly breathtaking location and we were truly blessed with a perfect September day! This is definitely not a cheap venture and whatever you think it will cost....it will be more. This is not like a catering hall where it is very planned out for you - you have to do everything from lighting to picking silver and glasses to renting tables....I even made my own toiletry baskets for the bathroom! But that said....you can truly make it your own and my husband and I really enjoyed the ability to make our wedding exactly what we wanted! There is no in house staff to help however the caterer manager, Moe, for the only allowed caterer Philip Stone (which btw food was incredible!) is awesome! He was such a pleasure to work with and was a tremendous help to us both in the planning and the day of....as was Alexis Bocchi. They did a fantastic job and know this venue inside out.....know exactly how to put on a spectacular event and do not at all push for you do do unnecessary, costly things. Our wedding day was perfection and this venue was beyond words amazing!

My wedding at the Hempstead house was phenominal. Nobody can stop talking about how amazing it was. Its a beautiful venue and Mostafa our coordinator made everything lovely and organized. This venue does come with a hefty price tag but is like no other venue.

If you want a castle like venue with stunning views and lots of unique space to do photo sessions, look no further. The Hempstead house made my dream of a grand wedding come true. I went and saw the venue in the dead of winter, even then with the trees bared of all leaves and no grass on the ground at all it still took my breath away. You pass a security check point before you get to actually view the property so you know that you will feel safe and have that wow factor for your guests on the big day. Once you made the path that led up to the castle, you have this tree line drive way and the castle-like statuesque building is all you can see. Future brides, think downtonn abby like view. My husband's first words about that view was "this is what I am talking about!" Once you are inside, you get that regal feel all thru-out the space, filled with sunken court yards, speak-easy feel side rooms and ginormous bridal and groomsmen suites. I feel like I should ring a bell and my butler would come fetch my tea. But what is so memorable is the beautiful garden in the back of the house and the view. Remember this was when I saw it in Winter, but you get the long island sound in front of you and a huge lawn laid out in front of you. Imagine all your guests turning around and looking at you as you walk down the aisle with the castle as your backdrop. I really was blown away and that was what sold me. On the day of my wedding, the garden was blooming with red rose bushes and lilacs and I was so glad that the event coordinator Rebecca told me that I did not need any flowers to decorate the space because anything more would have taken away the regal beauty of the garden. I can't believe that I got married in the castle and how beautiful it was. Because of its historical significance, there are a few restrictions in terms of how you can decorate, but i forgo much of the decoration but you really don't need it. I love every bit of the venue.
